What this policy covers
This policy covers our company website at tunedinlabs.com. Our apps, Thaw, Soft Focus, Tend and Wavelength, each have their own privacy policy, which explains what happens to the information you put into them. You'll find it in the app and on each app's own website.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, if you sign up for updates.
- Your name, email address and message, if you email us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data that every website receives, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. Our hosting provider records this in server logs.
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send us, sensitive information about your health or your relationship through this website.
How and why we use it
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of your data.
| What we do | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Send you news about our apps, early access and updates | Email address | Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email. |
| Reply to your messages and support questions | Name, email address, message | Our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us |
| Keep the website running, secure and free from abuse | Technical data | Our legitimate interest in operating a safe website |
| Meet legal obligations, such as keeping business records | Any of the above, where needed | Legal obligation |
We never sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, we make sure it's protected by a UK adequacy decision or by approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. We then keep your email address on a suppression list so we don't contact you again.
- Messages to us: up to 2 years after our last contact, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct data that's wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your data
- ask us to restrict how we use your data
- object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email privacy@tunedinlabs.com. We'll reply within one month. There's normally no charge.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We limit access to personal data to people who need it and use providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
This website and our apps are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we'll delete them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if the way we handle data changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell newsletter subscribers by email.
